Melodramatic Shadow
by Dizhiotcho Alfabeto
I was sitting at the bench
Drinking soda to quench my thirst.
Suddenly, I saw a girl at the corner.
Wearing her saddest face.
Burdens by something I cannot tell.
She glows bright as the sunlight touches her skin.
In spite of her gloomy face
She has a beauty that I could hardly deny.
Suddenly I notice something on the ground.
A portrait of all her.
Her shadow that reflects her personality.
As the light brightens, it gives emphasis to her melodramatic shadow.
In an instant I felt an irresistible sensation
The next thing I know, that girl in the corner earned my infatuation.
But that attraction fades away too fast,
Faster than the blink of an eye.
Shorter than counting my fingers,
than of the unfaithful that lingers.
Don’t know why ,
Don’t know how.
Lots of questions that my mind denies to entertain.
Maybe the feelings aren't deep, and it was just a show.
But I’ll continue to admire her melodramatic shadow.
